Step 01
What this tool is and how it works
Introduction
PII means Personally Identifiable Information — data that can identify a person, such as name, phone, and address on a CV. Do not upload that to AI raw. This masker deletes those patterns first, in the browser, with no AI and no install.
Key takeaways
- PII = Personally Identifiable Information
- Name, phone, address, email, and ID numbers on a CV count as PII
- The masker scans the CV with regular expressions (pattern rules), not an AI model
- Your CV stays on this computer — it is not sent to a server or an AI
Listen to the intro. The first slide explains PII (until 0:45). Then the regex idea slide (until 0:56). Then the email and 8-digit phone regex. Do not open the HTML file yet.

Stay on this step and follow the timed slides. Do not open pii-masker.html yet.
